Environmental finance and green banking are central drivers of the transition to a sustainable economy and essential components in solutions to climate change. This book presents the latest research on theory and practices in these interdisciplinary fields, incorporating both public and corporate finance. It introduces three parts - environmental investing and financing, green banking and environmental policies in the public sector. The book explores the current trends, dynamics and ways forward for environmental finance and green banking, including fundamental theories (e.g., environmental Kuznets curve) and comparisons between traditional and green bond efficiency, corporate governance practices and disclosure, green central banking, climate finance, sustainable strategies, green Islamic banking, and public climate fund management in multi-country context. The contributors to this book highlight significant challenges ahead while recognizing potential opportunities, such as the revolution in green investments and trading in green bonds. This book is a welcome addition to the literature on environmental economics and finance and the economics of sustainability and climate change.
To this day and age, mathematics, aptly named "the language of science," continues to play the central role in the development of science and technology, which, in turn, continue to be the main guiding forces behind our economic growth. However, although mathematics is, quite understandably, a compulsory school subject all over the globe, its inherent logical nature as well as the sophisticated abstractions of its concepts make the teaching-learning process of mathematics an extremely important matter to consider. In the present volume, the author attempts to develop a systematic and gapless syllabus for mathematics from classes I to IV by applying various scientific methods such as text book scanning, task analysing, comparative studies of diverse syllabi, etc. A comparison between various prevailing curricula of mathematics and the proposed syllabus has also been presented. The author sincerely hopes that this opus will be beneficial to all the interested teachers, students, researchers, policy-makers, syllabus-framers involved with mathematics and mathematical education anywhere.
As we pass through this age of science and technology, the importance of mathematics as the backbone behind it continues to become more and more evident. It goes without saying, then, that the eager young minds should be taught nuances of mathematics with utmost care and attention. However, the inherent abstraction in mathematical notions often pose a certain difficulty in imparting this education to school children. The author has endeavored his best to identify the commonest problems and the consequent errors-prevalent in the content organization and presentation of mathematical curricula all over the world. To remedy this situation, he offers various methods-i.e. text book scanning, task analyzing, comparative studies of diverse syllabi etc. that should help better sequence the different major concepts and sub-concepts needed throughout school mathematics. The author earnestly hopes that this treaties benefits those keeping whom in mind it was written: viz., interested students, teachers, academicians, educationists, researchers, policy makers involved with mathematics and mathematical education anywhere.
